Some Notes on Chainsaw Safety
Your safety when using and handling a chain saw is a major aspect of our daily development work. Your STIHL chain saw is fitted with specially developed safety features. In addition to that, it is essential for you to wear the personal protective equipment indicated below whenever you use a chain saw.
But before you get started, please be aware that personal protective clothing and appropriate accessories are no substitute for a careful, safe way of working.
So: Please read the Instruction Manual first before you start sawing!
Before starting work check that your protective clothing is complete and worn correctly. Your protective clothing should be suitable for the purpose, it should not impede movement and it should fit snugly.
Remember to wear facial protection and hearing protection, such as ear defenders.
Wear heavy-duty, nonslip gloves, preferably made of chrome leather.
You should wear trousers with a cut-retardant inlay or front leg protection and safety footwear with non-slip soles, a cut-retardant inlay and steel toecaps.
